At the outset of the case we will provide you with an estimation of likely fees and this estimate will be updated throughout the case.
In addition to the fees for your lawyer, additional fees may arise which are called disbursements.
These may include for example the expert witness's fees. These will be factored into any estimate provided.
Although each case is different and the level of work needed will vary from case to case, as a general indication we would expect that preparation for and representation in contested cases to defend a case in the Magistrates Court will range from £1,000.00 to £10,000.00 plus VAT, depending on its nature and complexity.
In the Crown Court, representation on a Dangerous Driving, Causing Death by Dangerous Driving and Causing Death by Careless Driving, we would expect preparation on a fully defended case to be in the region of between £5,000.00 to £20,000.00 plus VAT.
